MEDIA ALERT

Thirst for Holiday Cheer No More: Get Festive at the World of Coca‑Cola

ATLANTA, Nov. 21, 2016 – A cup of cheer has officially been poured, as the World of Coca‑Cola in Atlanta has launched its holiday celebration. Featuring larger-than-life decorations, special seasonal exhibits and beverages, one-of-a-kind handmade gifts and more, the attraction provides a uniquely Atlanta experience for out-of-town guests and long-time locals alike.

“Coca‑Cola has been a special part of seasonal celebrations for generations, and similarly, the World of Coca‑Cola has become a favorite destination for fans from around the world looking to experience the magic of the holidays,” said General Manager of Retail and Attractions for the World of Coca‑Cola Russell Jacobs. “Each year, we look forward to welcoming guests to make memories and celebrate the holidays with us.”

Coca‑Cola Style with a North Pole Twist

Inside the attraction-turned-winter wonderland, guests are welcomed with “happy holidays” in languages from all over the world. Giant red-and-white seasonal contour bottles mingle with ornament trees, and a special exhibit, “A Coca‑Cola Christmas Celebration,” archives Coca‑Cola’s international presence with a holiday focus. For those who have always wondered why Saint Nick dons a familiar shade of red, the “History of the Coca‑Cola Santa” explains the relationship between our favorite holiday icon and The Coca‑Cola Company. The exhibit features several paintings of the famous Santa that Coca‑Cola originally commissioned Haddon Sundblom to illustrate in the 1930s.

As guests enter and leave the attraction, the holiday lights and giant, sparkling ornaments adorning the Pemberton Place lawn set the scene outside the World of Coca‑Cola and provide the perfect opportunity to capture and share a photo.

Atlanta’s Holiday Flavor

In addition to the year-round beverage tasting experience at the World of Coca‑Cola, Gingerbread Coke®, Diet Gingerbread Coke® and Chocolate Cherry Coke® are on the menu for a limited time at the complimentary sampling bar in the Taste It! beverage lounge. Whether guests reach for the seasonal beverages or take the international tour of Coca‑Cola products, the experience is sure to be tasty.

No Re-Gifting Needed

Forget white elephants – visitors can choose a Coca‑Cola Polar Bear-approved gift this year. The 5by20 artisan collection is a special line of items handcrafted by female entrepreneurs around the world. These artisans give used packaging, like glass bottles and pull tabs, new life as one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts. As part of The Coca‑Cola Company’s 5by20 initiative to empower 5 million women entrepreneurs by 2020, The Coca‑Cola Store at the World of Coca‑Cola has handcrafted jewelry and other unique accessories created by the 5by20 artisans.

Pics with the Polar Bear and Selfies on Santa’s Sleigh

No visit to the World of Coca‑Cola is complete without visiting the attraction’s fun-loving arctic giant, the Coca‑Cola Polar Bear, to snap a selfie or snag a hug. For more photo fun, guests can hop aboard Santa’s sleigh and have pictures taken in front of a backdrop featuring St. Nick himself.

Photos can be shared using #WorldofCocaCola for a chance to be featured on the World of Coca‑Cola website or social media channels.

Hold on to that Holiday Cheer

World of Coca‑Cola Annual Passes can help lighten the post-holiday blues with some year-round Coca‑Cola red. For only $32, fans have unlimited access to the interactive attraction and will receive a semi-annual newsletter with member-only offerings.

The gift of a VIP Guided Tour is also guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime. VIP Guided Tours, which include attraction admission and are priced at $28 per person, are personalized experiences led by dedicated guides who highlight key facts and little-known insights about the brand’s past and present. Visitors receive a headset so they don’t miss any info during their tour and take home their choice of a keepsake lanyard or commemorative pin.
